Mission Statement

“The mission of Wellington Christian School is to impact the world by educating students in a Christ-centered, loving atmosphere that pursues spiritual and academic excellence.”

Wellington Christian School will be a home for students to receive a Christ-centered education, focused on preparatory studies where Christ is pre-eminent and the Bible is the guiding authority. Serving Palm Beach County, the school will partner with parents and Wellington Presbyterian Church, (Presbyterian Church America (PCA)), to train, develop, nurture and uniquely instruct all students to their highest, God-given potential. Loving, dedicated, and highly-qualified teachers instruct and challenge students to love God, apply biblical principles to their lives, and to become lifelong learners through an educational program defined by spiritual, academic and extracurricular excellence.

The ultimate goal is to graduate a mature, well-educated student, who lives for the glory of God, thinking biblically and critically, upholding Christian character and servant-leadership through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Standing with Christ: Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, not a set of rules.

Founded on the Bible: The Book of the Covenant is the Word of God giving His people the Good News of redemption and eternal life for those in Christ. It is God’s authorized interpretation of His creation.

Dignity of all People: Every student, employee, and parent is a unique image- bearer of God with equal value, worth, and respect.

Parent Partnership: Faculty and staff serve as partners with parents, supporting one another in teaching and instructing their children.

Raising the Bar: We are committed to excellence in all things, to continuous school improvement, to providing a royal education for the children of the King of Kings.

Servant Living: Christ calls us to leadership by servanthood, that is, to building the Kingdom of God by being the instruments of God’s grace through serving one another.

Covenant Community: We are dedicated to God-centered teambuilding and personal relationships that build Christian families, churches and the local community in order to impact the world for Christ.

Wellington Christian School is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Christian Schools of Florida (CSF), which is recognized nationally by the National Council of Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). CSF is authorized by the Florida Department of Education (FL DOE) as an accrediting agency. WCS is subject to renewal of accreditation standards every five years, and its faculty is required to complete a self-study for renewal.

With the exception of secondary Bible teachers, all WCS elementary and secondary classroom teachers are required to hold and keep current a State of Florida teaching certificate.

CSF has a state-approved in-service program to help teachers meet continuing-education requirements. Furthermore, WCS helps finance college courses for faculty who meet certain stipulations. Teachers should see their principal for proposed course approval.

No job applicant or employee, full-time or part-time, meeting the requirements for employment, shall be denied employment because of race, color, sex, or national origin. WCS hires faculty and staff who live a life which is acceptable as defined by the spiritual core values listed above, and are outline by the PCA.

Each member of the Wellington Christian School Board must be an active member of Wellington Presbyterian Church. The school headmaster acts as an ex-officio member of the board.

The Wellington Christian School Board is comprised of members who serve a three-year term. The board shall be composed of five to twelve members. At least half of these members must have children or grandchildren enrolled in WCS.
