A word from our Early Childhood Director
Dear Parents,
Wellington Christian School’s Early Childhood program is proud to provide our youngest students with an exceptional Christian educational experience. We respect each child as a unique individual, a blessing from our Heavenly Father. Our staff is committed to providing a nurturing Christ-centered environment.
We are proud of our strong Christian foundation. The weekly instruction focuses on a Bible story and unit theme to enhance real life experiences for your child. The curriculum centers on active skill development that is age appropriate and geared toward individual learning styles.
Our classrooms are set up with learning centers to invite both creative play and specific learning skills. Teachers provide a stimulating environment through “hands-on” activities. Our four-year-old program also utilizes A Beka reading, math and writing curriculum.
One of the many benefits of Wellington Christian School’s Early Childhood Program is the low child-to-teacher ratio. Our ratios are lower than state licensing agency requirements. Our nurturing staff encourages a strong home and school relationship.
The Early Childhood staff is well-qualified. The minimum requirement for all teachers is to have a Child Development Associate Credential as well as some previous teaching experience. Teacher assistants must complete a 40-hour Child Care Training Certification Program which is a mandatory requirement of the Florida Department of Children and Families. Each staff member is required to be certified in Child CPR and First Aid. Many of our staff hold bachelor degrees in a related field. All staff members have proclaimed Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and have signed our doctrinal statement.
Wellington Christian School’s Early Childhood Program provides a Christian atmosphere that fosters a secure Christian foundation. It is our goal that all children develop responsible and socially acceptable behaviors that reflect Christian character. The children experience a positive Christian environment that promotes the spiritual, social, emotional growth and academic readiness for each child.
In His Service,
Patricia H. McCaulley
Early Childhood Director
